This WordPress + Woocommerce website started life as a DIY project that the owner decided she needed some assistance with to help it realise it’s potential. The design theme was not mobile-friendly or responsive. Based in Australia, this .COM site was hosted in Japan, creating two major issues;
- the load speed in Australia exceeded 20 seconds due to latency / lag time on a very slow server
- a .com site is associated with the date set of the country in which it is hosted – so search engines view it as a Japanese site, NOT an Australian site!
There was also a plethora of plugins loaded, several were no longer maintained, and many were not even used. A rationalisation of that area was done as part of improving load times and enhancing security.
Hosting was switched to CrazyDomains, and load speed issues were addressed with Force Regenerate Thumbnails and Shortpixel etc.
A complete change of layout on the Home page was done, and Woocommerce shortcodes used to highlight new products etc.
